General Terms and Conditions

Verstappen Psychology

Version: 16 October 2026

1. About the practice

Verstappen Psychology is operated by Max Verstappen, MSc, under the business name Verstappen Coaching & Counselling.

Chamber of Commerce number: 98053981
Email: info@verstappenpsychology.nl

I am a psychologist with a master’s degree in psychology. I am not registered under the Dutch Individual Healthcare Professions Act (Wet BIG) and do not hold a BIG registration.

In these terms, “I” refers to Max Verstappen and “you” refers to the client.

2. When these terms apply

These terms apply to individual psychological consultations for adults. You will receive them before entering into an agreement and can request a copy by email.

Before services begin, we agree on the nature of the support, fees, session duration and practical arrangements. Any individual agreement must respect your statutory rights.

Courses, digital products and services commissioned by organisations require separate arrangements and are outside the scope of these terms.

3. Psychological support and informed consent

We first discuss your needs, goals and whether the practice is an appropriate setting for you. An enquiry does not automatically establish a treatment relationship.

Before starting an intervention, I explain the proposed approach, its expected benefits, relevant risks and available alternatives. You may ask questions, decline an intervention or withdraw your consent.

I provide services with professional care and within my competence. Progress varies between individuals, and a particular outcome cannot be guaranteed. We review progress and suitability during our work together.

Please share information relevant to safe and appropriate care, including significant changes in your circumstances or other treatment.

4. Online appointments

For online sessions, you need a private setting, a suitable device and a reliable internet connection. We agree on the video platform and a backup contact method before the first session.

Please tell me if you will attend from another country so that I can assess whether providing care there is appropriate and permitted.

If a technical problem interrupts a session, we first try to reconnect. If continuing is not possible, we agree on a reasonable arrangement for the remaining time and any fee, taking account of the circumstances.

Neither party may record a session without the other party’s prior explicit consent.

5. Fees and payment

The session fee and duration are confirmed before booking. Additional work that incurs a charge, such as an extensive report, requires your agreement in advance.

Invoices are payable by bank transfer within 14 days of the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

If payment is overdue, you will receive a payment reminder. Before charging collection costs to a consumer, I will provide the legally required notice and an opportunity to pay without collection costs. Any subsequent collection costs and statutory interest will be calculated in accordance with Dutch law.

Please contact me promptly if you have a question about an invoice or difficulty paying.

6. Insurance reimbursement

You are responsible for paying the agreed fees, regardless of any insurance reimbursement.

Before starting, please check directly with your insurer whether your policy covers the services and what conditions apply. I do not guarantee reimbursement.

7. Confidentiality

Information you share during our work is treated confidentially. I do not disclose identifiable information to your employer, relatives, GP or other third parties without your consent, unless disclosure is legally required or otherwise lawfully justified.

Exceptions may arise where there is a serious risk of harm or concern about domestic violence or child abuse. In those circumstances, I follow applicable law, professional standards and the relevant reporting code.

Where possible and appropriate, I discuss a proposed disclosure with you beforehand. Any disclosure is limited to the information necessary for its purpose.

8. Privacy and client records

I process personal information for purposes such as providing care, maintaining appropriate records, arranging appointments, invoicing and meeting legal obligations.

Appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect your information. The privacy statement explains the legal grounds for processing, service providers involved, retention periods, your rights and how to exercise them.

Where the Dutch Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) applies, medical records are generally retained for 20 years from the last amendment, or longer where required for good care or by law. Other records are retained according to their purpose and applicable legal requirements.

You may request access to or a copy of your records, correction of factual inaccuracies, and the addition of your own statement. Requests for deletion or destruction are assessed under the applicable legal rules.

9. Ending our work together

You may withdraw consent and end our work at any time. Fees remain payable for services already provided.

Any refund for services paid for but not provided will be assessed in accordance with the agreement and your statutory rights.

10. Urgent situations

The practice does not provide emergency care or continuous availability. Email messages are not monitored continuously.

If you need urgent assistance, contact your GP or local out-of-hours medical service. In an immediate emergency in the Netherlands, call 112. If you are elsewhere, contact the local emergency service.

11. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, you are welcome to contact me at info@verstappenpsychology.nl.

I will take your complaint seriously and discuss with you how it can be addressed.

Making a complaint does not restrict your other legal rights.

12. Professional responsibility and liability

I am responsible for providing services in accordance with applicable law and professional standards. Liability is determined under Dutch law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law.

13. Changes to these terms

The applicable version is provided when we enter into our agreement. An updated website version does not automatically replace terms already agreed with you.

Any proposed change affecting an ongoing agreement will be communicated in advance and introduced only where legally permitted and, where required, with your agreement. Changes will not retrospectively alter fees for services already provided.

14. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to our agreement.
